Young Musician Mentorship Program
The North End Chamber Orchestra is pleased to announce the creation of the "Young Musician Mentorship Program." The goal of the program is to encourage young musicians to develop their musical talents, as well as to teach them musicianship from more experienced musicians. The goal is achieved by having the young musician attend rehearsal, sitting next to one of the more experienced adult musicians, and learning from his or her experience working together with the adult musician. The young musicians gain confidence and learn from the experience.
In order to enroll in the program, young musicians must:
(1) Be less than 18 years old at the time of enrolling
(2) There is no lower age limit, but maturity and enthusiasm are important
(3) Play a musical instrument
(4) Having passing grades in all subjects at school
(5) Sign a promisory note stating that they will practice the music at home
(6) Pass an audition with the music director
After the young musician graduates from the Young Musician Mentorship Program, he or she is eligible to audition for full membership in the North End Chamber Orchestra.
